Ilha de Moçambique Tailor Made Tour Details

Welcome to the most precious treasure of Mozambique (the writer of this text is clearly biased). This is absolutely mandatory for those visiting the country but dont worry. If our signature trips do not match your needs, we can make it happen with a Ilha de Moçambique Tailor Made Tour.

Ilha de Moçambique was a former Capital and the main harbor for all the trade with the east. It recently celebrated its 200º anniversary, but it’s good as new. 🙂

Its charm derives mostly from its beautiful architecture mixed with the pristine waters and natural beauty.

At Ilha de Moçambique we can take you in slow dhow trips to the islands on its surroundings, to have lunch on an isolated beach. We can take you to take dancing lessons, cooking workshops, visit the fortress, the museum, have a bike tour on the island and, most of all, just live and enjoy the special and magic vibe of this unique place.

There are several reasons to visit the island of Mozambique and several attractions.

Being an island, it is linked to the mainland by a 3 km bridge, through which cars and motorbikes pass, as well as people walking, obviously.

The island of Mozambique itself is also about 3 km long. It is a very dense island in terms of buildings, remember that it was once the capital of Mozambique, so there are old buildings everywhere, some of them are just sublime, it’s architecture will keep you in awe like the Hospital, the Court, the Main church, the fortress, among many others.

It seems like you are breathing history with every step you take on the island.

You can spend 3 days just walking around to enjoy the island and you still won’t get tired, but if you need more action, we suggest you to take a boat trip to one of the other small islands around the Island of Mozambique, namely the island of Goa, island of ‘sete paus’ or island of Cobra (snake).

You can also visit the Cabaceira village where legand says Mossa Bimbique lived, the Arab that Vasco da Gama met and who inspired him to name Mozambique to this wonderful country.

On the island, enjoy the relaxed life, eat well, swim at the pontoon, visit the museum, cycle, talk to the elders and play with the children on the streets.

Do not get upset, do not rush, breathe the rhythm of this unique place in the world, and feel blessed.
